The Johnny Holm Band

Leader and front man of the most widely known and traveled band in America, Johnny Holm is the most entertaining entertainer performing today. The show is dedicated to the fans, and they do most of the entertaining. Mostly impromptu, the show moves with the speed of lightning and changes direction as soon as "the pied piper" notices a lag. "Never a dull moment" was never a more true description.

Surrounding himself with the finest musicians in the Midwest, the band rocks, picks, and thunders along for 3-4 hours, almost non-stop from the first song to the last laugh.

Millions of people have seen Johnny over the years, and millions of people have been part of his fantourage.

The band plays in most of the United States but most dates are in the 5 state upper Midwest area.

Ask anyone with a twinkle in their eye or a knowing smile about Johnny. They'll try and tell you all about the mayhem that masquerades as a rock and roll band.

Sonny Knight And The Lakers

Vitality is defined as the power to live or grow, and perseverance pertains to the qualities of moving forward when an obstacle stands in your way. The music of soul man Sonny Knight brims with these essential life traits because he exudes them. Along with his 7-piece powerhouse band, The Lakers, the 68 year-old retired truck driver has created a sound that extends much deeper than throwback soul.

After the band’s 2014 debut album, I’m Still Here, came to fruition much sooner than anyone expected, Sonny Knight and The Laker’s released a live double album the following year. Now, the band’s sophomore studio set, Sooner Or Later, explores themes of overcoming adversity, love found, love lost, and societal observation. Where their debut might be likened to steering a bike before turning the pedals, considering how they wrote and recorded it before road testing their songs and individual strengths, their latest effort sees the wheels fully in motion.

With performances across the US and Europe in theaters, performing arts centers, festivals and night clubs, Sonny and the band have tightened their unity and discovered what each member brings to the table that can further the collective’s playing. By doing so, the group was able to gain a greater understanding of what their best material was through performing it on the road night after night. What results on Sooner Or Later is a rarity by today’s recording standards. Of the 10 songs that were taken into Secret Stash’s brand new studio, all made the final cut. Rather than track a bunch of material and pick out the best parts later, Sonny and the band hit the studio knowing exactly what the record would be, perfectly encapsulating a snapshot in time for the artist.

By focusing less on so-called groove makers and more on the songwriting process, Knight and company harnessed the power of the different genres that came together to shape what we have come to know as soul music over the last 50+ years. Gospel, country, and blues were all melded into a record that takes you on a journey through life’s questions and emotions via nine originals and a cover of Lonnie Mack’s “Why.”

Knight’s vast array of life experiences inform a worldview that give him a unique perspective on the song writing, expressive, and storytelling process. While he was enamored with gospel music during his youth, which eventually led him to recording his first single in 1965, he soon found himself exploring other opportunities. From a deployment in Vietnam to a job as a long haul trucker, that it hasn’t been a linear path has made him a more attuned performer. Combining this hard-earned experience with a vivacious band whose members are half his age, the songs and performances are a perfect blending of observation, promise, and energy, thanks in some part to their collective globetrotting adventures playing for audiences of many different backgrounds.

In the past year Sonny Knight and The Lakers have collaborated with James Brown alumni Fred Wesley and Jab’o Starks, produced their own live soul revue for Minnesota Public Radio at The Fitzgerald Theater (home of A Prairie Home Companion), starred in their own PBS special (airing throughout the nation in early 2017), and released their sophomore studio album, Sooner Or Later. With a little help from his musical compatriots, The Lakers, it sometimes feels as though the sky is the limit for the retired truck driver/military veteran.

Big Toe & The Jam

Big Toe & The Jam are here to help you kick off your shoes and shake out the blues on an utterly grand scale.

Rock, pop, R&B, and funk.

From James Brown, Journey, Bob Marley, and Aretha to The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Eyed Peas, Beyonce, and Christina Aguilera, from Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and Prince to Taio Cruz, Jason Mraz, and Gwen Stefani, from The Beatles, Chicago, and The Blues Brothers to Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry, and Kid Rock, and don't miss the Disco Extravaganza that will leave you breathless.

Vocalist Paul Dunkirk (original member, The Blenders) and drummer Jamie (Sacred Chao, Brat Pack Radio) have merged their respective bags of trickery and assembled a 9-piece, technicolor troupe with infectious appeal. Paul Dunkirk and Paula Wilson on vocals will knock you out. Jamie, along with bassist Aaron Hammerman lay out relentlessly rock-steady, dynamic grooves. Brian Allen is amazing on keyboard and adds vocal harmony. John Baumgartner on trombone joins one of the best young horn sections in town with Matt Bergman on sax and Sten Johnson on trumpet. These exceptionally talented musical artists want nothing more than to show you a good time.

So, step right up. Get on in under the big tent. You're gonna strut. You're gonna sweat. You're gonna get downright converted. Resistance? Futile.

Hitchville has quickly solidified themselves among the upper echelon of regional talent.  Under the foundational leadership of dynamic lead vocalists Heidi Owens and Matthew Kneefe, the group’s trademark harmonies, down home personalities, and kinetic stage energy leads to an unforgettable live show in which the band has worked tirelessly to produce.

Hard at work in Nashville on their sophomore project scheduled for a Spring 2016 release, Hitchville was humbled to have that forthcoming album’s first single, “Even When It’s Bad It’s Good” rocket to #1 on the iHeartRadio Top 5 Countdown just a few short weeks after its release in 2015.  The band has even more recently realized another big dream of theirs: to start their own country music and camping festival…and so it began!  The First Annual Hitchville Hootenanny took place August 14 & 15, 2015 with some of the region’s most sought after talent and was a resounding success!  Plans are already underway for the 2nd annual in 2016.

Over the past few years, fans have come to know to expect the unexpected at a Hitchville show.  There’s really only one place where the beer is always cold, the people are always friendly, the music is always world class, and the energy is always palpable…they’d like to welcome everybody home… to Hitchville.
